Also offers mountain climbing and woodworking experiences. Enjoy magnificent nature at Hokkaido’s hidden gem!

Kimobetsu is a rural town with a population of 1,900, located next to Niseko. Although it does not stand out much from the surrounding famous resorts, you can enjoy magnificent nature in this area. And in recent years, more and more tourists have been traveling from Niseko to Kimobetsu to get to know the town, and many people have also been relocating here.
We want more people to know about Hokkaido’s " hidden gem "
The base for this project will be a coffee stand and shared space in the center of town. Various projects have emerged from this location since its opening in 2019. One such activity is trail maintenance. We worked with the local community to revive a climbing route that had been abandoned for 20 years. In the future, we will improve the environment so that it can be utilized as a tourism resource. There are also baseball bat makers and woodworkers in the town, giving birth to woodworking projects using thinned wood generated in the process of managing the forest. Participants can join a walking tour of the restored trail (about 2 hours round trip), woodworking experiences, or other programs tailored to their preferences.

The trail, restored after a 20-years, started with the task of finding the trail itself.

Why not stay in Kimobetsu and experience the "now" of Kimobetsu with us?
Kimobetsu is still an area "known to only a few”. However, everyone who has stayed here says that it is a really nice town and they would like to stay longer. First of all, we would like you to visit and experience Kimobetsu at that time of the year. There are many foreign nationals and Japanese with extensive overseas experience in the area, ensuring a safe and welcoming stay.

Mt. Yotei, the symbol of the town, is called the "Ezo Fuji," and many people move to the area just to see it.

This shared space is the base for this project.
